10 Lessons Learned in 2018
Inspired by The Jealous Curator’s recent post, I decided to follow suit and make a list of lessons learned in 2018. This past year was a whirlwind for me, with some major life changes. I was drawn to this exercise because of all the changes, finding it satisfying to look back and realize how much I have learned.
Lessons Learned in 2018
Change is always hard, no matter how many times you have done it before. And that’s okay! Just make sure you are in the right headspace going into it.
Meditating regularly = better sleep.
Experiences are more valuable than things. Go out and do what you dream of doing.
Always express your thanks for someone who has helped you. Don’t forget about the people who go unnoticed.
Speak out for what you believe in. Communicate in the best way to get your point across thoughtfully and respectfully.
Atlantic Canada has the nicest people in the world.
Go out of your comfort zone often, but not so often that you are always uncomfortable. There is a sweet spot in between that is magical.
Being intentional and having a plan for your life will get you closer to your goals.
Having a positive mindset makes anything possible.
Have awareness of when your boundaries are being crossed. Do something constructive to correct it.
Making this list was a fun exercise in self reflection. To be honest, I was surprised at how fast the words flowed out of me. I think we all have inner wisdom that knows things that we haven’t yet realized. Especially with major life changes, you don’t see the lessons while they are happening. You see them when you look back.
I encourage you to make a similar list and share!
